Confluence
The subject in the art is a man attired as one of the incarnations of a demigod called "Panjurli". It is a symbolic representation of god and divinity in every human being. It represents the fine relationship between human beings and god with a thought of co-existing in civilised social life. Panjurli is adored and worshipped in the coastal districts of Karnataka ( a province in South India) from time immemorial. The entire event is called "Kola", a socio-cultural activity to keep the people within the moral standards of society. The person is believed to be under god's influence during the event. I chose to use vibrant colors to represent magnanimity. Kola is artistically magnificent because of its vibrant colors, designs, and the dance form backed by thundering native music. I took inspiration from a well-known Kannada movie, "Kantaara", to paint this art piece.
