Coronation of Sugreeva
This painting illustrates the story from the Ramayana, showcasing the act of Sugreeva's coronation ceremony, known as Sugreeva Pattabhisheka, which took place in Kishkindha after he regained his kingdom with the help of Rama. Thus, he became the king of Vanaras (monkeys). The inspiration comes from the Amruteshwara Temple in Chikmagaluru. This work is created in watercolor on Arches paper, a challenging medium, and employs various techniques to capture the textures of the stones.
