Man with the lip plate

The Mursi, Chai, and Tirma are perhaps the last tribes in Africa where it is still the norm for men and women to wear large pottery or wooden discs in their lower lips. The beauty is measured based on the size of the wooden plate placed exactly on the lips. "Beauty lies in the eyes of the holder and beholder". That said, the image caught my attention and inspired me to use charcoal for this art.
